For Economy Shipping and Free Economy Shipping, we select the shipping carrier and service based on the package size, weight, destination, and available shipping options.
Orders may ship via USPS, UPS, or FedEx. All shipments include tracking.

This is a genuine vintage Singer Multi-Slotted Binder Foot (also known as Slotted Binder Attachment) - original Singer Part #160847 in excellent condition, not a reproduction. This low-shank presser foot is designed to apply bias binding to fabric edges easily and professionally in one step.

How to Use the Slotted Binder

- Attach the foot: Secure the 160847 binder foot to your machine's low-shank presser foot holder
- Prepare the binding: Fold the start of your bias tape in half and cut the end to a point
- Feed the binding: Insert the pointed end of the binding into the wide, outer slot of the binder scroll and pull it through until it emerges from the lower end under the foot
- Insert the project fabric: Place the raw edge of the material you want to bind into the gap between the scroll and the presser foot, making sure it aligns with the fold of the binding
- Sew: Lower the presser bar and begin to sew slowly, gently guiding both the project fabric and the binding into the foot's mechanism. The foot does the work of folding and guiding, allowing you to achieve an even stitch along the edge
- Stitch selection: You can use a straight stitch for a classic finish or a zigzag stitch for a decorative edge, ensuring the needle passes through the center of the elongated hole and catches both sides of the binding
