Description

The Little Foot - 1/4" Quilting Foot for Singer Slant Needle (Slant Shank) Machines

Made in USA

The Little Foot is a specialized 1/4" quilting foot designed for Singer slant needle sewing machines, featuring hinged plastic construction for optimal visibility during machine piecing. Engineered to help achieve precise 1/4" seam allowances with the right edge positioned exactly 1/4" from the center needle position and the left edge a scant 3/8" from the center needle position. This unique design enhances tension control by covering more of the feed dog on most machines, resulting in more consistent, accurate seams. Proudly manufactured in the USA.

Key Features:

  • Hinged plastic construction for optimal visibility during piecing
  • Right edge positioned exactly 1/4" from center needle position
  • Left edge positioned scant 3/8" from center needle position
  • Enhanced tension control by covering more feed dog area
  • Precise 1/4" seam allowances for accurate quilt piecing
  • Made in USA for quality and precision
  • Compatible with all Singer slant needle (slant shank) machines

Perfect For:

  • Quilt Piecing: Accurate 1/4" seam allowances for precise quilt block assembly
  • Machine Piecing: Optimal visibility for fast, accurate piecing
  • Quilt Block Construction: Consistent seams ensure blocks fit together perfectly
  • Foundation Piecing: Precise 1/4" seams for paper piecing and foundation work
  • Patchwork: Uniform seam allowances for professional patchwork projects

How The Little Foot Works:

The Little Foot is uniquely designed with asymmetric edges to optimize both visibility and tension control. The right edge is positioned exactly 1/4" from the center needle position, providing a perfect guide for accurate 1/4" seam allowances. The left edge is positioned a scant 3/8" from center, creating a slightly wider footprint on the left side. This asymmetric design serves two important purposes: first, the plastic construction provides excellent visibility so you can see exactly where your fabric edges align; second, the wider left side covers more of the feed dog area, which enhances tension control and results in more consistent, even stitches. This combination of visibility and improved tension makes The Little Foot ideal for precision quilt piecing.

Using the Foot:

  1. Attach Foot: Install The Little Foot on your slant needle machine
  2. Position Fabric: Align fabric edges with the right edge of the foot (1/4" from needle)
  3. Sew Seams: Plastic construction provides excellent visibility for accurate piecing
  4. Enhanced Tension: Wider left side covers more feed dog for improved stitch consistency
  5. Perfect Seams: Achieve precise 1/4" seam allowances throughout quilt blocks

Benefits:

  • Optimal Visibility: Plastic construction lets you see fabric alignment clearly
  • Precise 1/4" Seams: Right edge positioned exactly 1/4" from needle
  • Enhanced Tension Control: Wider left side covers more feed dog for consistent stitches
  • Asymmetric Design: Engineered for both visibility and performance
  • Made in USA: Quality manufacturing for precision and durability

Tips for Best Results:

  • Align fabric edges with right edge of foot for accurate 1/4" seams
  • Plastic construction provides excellent visibility—watch fabric alignment as you sew
  • Wider left side enhances tension control for more consistent stitches
  • Essential for quilt piecing where blocks must fit together precisely
  • Perfect for machine piecing with optimal visibility
  • Excellent for foundation piecing and paper piecing projects
  • Made in USA for quality and precision
  • Compatible with all Singer slant needle machines
