How the Bobbin Winder Works
The bobbin winder assembly mounts to the right side of the machine and engages with the handwheel when the winder is pressed into position. Thread passes through the thread guide (sold separately), through the tension mechanism, and winds evenly onto the bobbin. The release lever and slotted tripping plate work together to automatically disengage the winder when the bobbin is full — a key feature of Singer's precision engineering.
