Most commonly needed when the original assembly is missing or broken. The tension assembly controls thread resistance to create balanced, secure stitches by ensuring the upper and bobbin threads interlock correctly within the fabric layers.

What's Included:
Complete upper tension assembly with all components including tension discs, spring, cap (black or brown), check spring, and stud.
How It Works:
The assembly consists of a spring and curved metal tension discs. Thread passes between the discs, and the tension dial adjusts the spring pressure. Higher tension pushes discs closer together (more resistance), while lower tension allows discs to sit further apart (less resistance). When balanced correctly, threads lock in the center of fabric layers, creating identical stitching on both sides.
