Singer SIMANCO 55509 Belt Cover — Vintage Original with Ottoman Carnation Decals
This is a genuine vintage original Singer SIMANCO 55509 Belt Cover, also commonly referred to by collectors as a Handwheel Guard. In official Singer parts books, this component is identified as the Bracket (Belt Cover).
This example retains its original black japanned finish and original gold decals, which collectors commonly identify as the Ottoman Carnation decal pattern. Please note that "Ottoman Carnation" is a collector term and not an official Singer designation.
The belt cover mounts over the handwheel and serves as the mounting bracket for the later top-mounted Singer bobbin winder assembly. Because these covers were exposed to years of regular use, original examples with intact decals are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
Condition: Vintage original used. The black japanned finish shows age-appropriate patina consistent with decades of use. The original gold Ottoman Carnation decals are present and legible, with minor wear typical of a part of this age.
